The 3-week November-December 2007 field season took place in the Southern Sector of the Free Zone and had two principle aims: (i) to identify and sample environmental indicators in order to assess, and if possible begin developing a chronology of, past envronmental change, and (ii) to conduct detailed surveys of funerary monuments in selected areas in the vicinity of Lajuad, Dugej and Zug. Sites whose codes begin with the letter E were sampled for environmental materials. Detailed surveys of collections of monuments were carried out at Lajuad (code LDXXX), Dugej, and Zug (code ZGXX).
