The 3-week November-December 2007 field season took place in the Southern Sector of the Free Zone and had two principle aims: (i) to identify and sample environmental indicators in order to assess, and if possible begin developing a chronology of, past envronmental change, and (ii) to conduct detailed surveys of funerary monuments in selected areas in the vicinity of Lajuad, Dugej and Zug.

Nov2007-area

The wider study area of the November-December 2007 survey, showing new sites. Sites whose codes begin with the letter E were sampled for environmental materials. Detailed surveys of collections of monuments were carried out at Lajuad (code LDXXX), Dugej, and Zug (code ZGXX). See field report (above) for more details.
