The aims of the November 2006 field
season were to (i) assess the potential of certain locations in the
Northern Sector for the sampling and dating of palaeo-environmental
indicators, (ii) identify animal species represented in the rock art of
the Northern Sector in order to identify past environmental conditions
based on the habitat requirements of these species, and (iii) identify
and record new archaeological sites in the Northern Sector.

Sites wereh environmental assessments were performed are marked as
yellow circles. The red crosses delineate the course of the Moroccan
wall or Berm. The settlement of Tifariti is shown near the lower centre

Dirt, ER: Wadi Erni, IR: Irghraywa, LM: Limsharha, LS: el-Lous Lajaram,
