The November 2005 field focused on the excavation of two funerary monuments in the vicinity of Tifariti, in the Northern Sector. These were test excavations intented to yield information about the nature, construction and likely dates of two typical tumulus monuments in an area with a dense concentration of monuments. The results of the excavations are described in the November 2005 field report, and also in a paper in the 2006 issue of Sahara (Vol. 17). The 2005 field season was sponsored by Ophir Energy.
