The
first, exploratory, field season of the Western Sahara Project was
conducted in autumn 2002. The second season was undertaken in spring
2005, since which one or two field seasons have been undertaken per
year. The 2002 and spring 2005 field seasons focused on reconnaissance
work, the aim of which was to identify sites of potential interested in
the northern and southern regions of the Polisario-controlled areas
respectively. Subsequent field seasons have involved a combination of
excavation, detailed survey work, and reconnaissance. Information on the aims and findings of individual seasons (including field reports) is provided via the links below. Field seasons are led by Nick Brooks (NB) and/or Jo Clarke (JC).
